Make a new life saving product system easy to use, and assure it fits in the chaotic environment of the ICU.
Solution
Engage respiratory therapists in a series of Human Factors studies to both inform the system design, and assure the final product, when marketed will 'Fit right in' to an already crowded workspace.

Aerogen

Design and implement a Human Factors program which is compliant with Gov’t guidelines and assures the life-saving product performs it’s very best in the ICU.

Aerogens new technology has the ability to deliver live saving formulations to premies and adults in the ICU, patients who were previously not treatable. Introducing a sophisticated technology into a chaotic environment requires care. Care in the design of the interface, the physical components and the training of the professionals who will be using it.

CharlesGroup designed and fielded the Human Factors program for Aerogen. The series of formative studies conducted with respiratory therapists informed the iterative development activities as well as the instructions for use and quick-start guides, helping create a highly refined product system.

The studies, designed in compliance with US and International regulatory requirements and guide lines, helped assure a mature product will arrive in the ICU ready to save lives.
